  • 1. Global Immunization Vision and Strategy (GIVS)

    • Countries are increasingly looking to integrate their multiyear plans across the health sector – covering everything from immunization, to HIV/AIDS to malaria. It will be increasingly important to use a combination of strategies to reach everyone with immunization.
    • Reaching global immunization goals will require not only mobilization of increased financial resources but also human resources. Countries must be empowered to set their own priorities and given the latitude to develop their plans within their own timeframes.

    The Board:

1.1 Recommended that the strategy be adjusted to better reflect potential systems bottlenecks and to articulate vaccine and other supply requirements.

1.2 Requested cost estimates be developed for the GIVS to highlight the total immunization financing and needs.
