30 September - 3 October 2004 Tsukuba Science City/Tokyo, Japan
WCVI 2004 Japan
SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
The World Congress on Vaccines and Immunisation (WCVI) is the first unique Congress created in 1997 to discuss in one forum all aspects concerning the development of new vaccines and immunisation strategies to prevent and control infections as well as other diseases of importance in human and veterinary medicine. Several plenary sessions, symposia, workshops and daily posters will give an excellent opportunity for information exchange and cooperation to all colleagues from Academia, Industry, Governmental Health Services, Hospitals, Research Institutes, Biotech Firms and International Health Organisations who are interested to promote the science, research and expertise in vaccinology. Tsukuba Science City is located in parks and gardens, near Tokyo (50 km) and Narita International Airport (40 km) with a modern international convention centre and large choice of deluxe hotels reserved at special prices. Tsukuba is the most advanced academic community and the largest R&D center in Japan with a cosmopolitan flavor as 6,500 foreign researchers from 120 countries are working in this blessed natural environment of hills and lakes. Tsukuba is home of 300 national, public and private research institutes and universities as well as of traditional cultural activities and tourism. Testimonials on the World Congress on Vaccines and Immunisation
As the cost of modern therapeutic medicine escalates and special programs are announced to prevent the damage that bioterrorists would wish to wreak, vaccines have been highlighted as a focal means whereby our modern societies may seek to achieve protection against disease no matter its source or nature. This makes the forthcoming Fourth World Congress on Vaccines and Immunisation a key event in the promotion and promulgation of new ideas, methods and successes in the vaccine area. These congresses are characterized by the broad range and profound depths of the vaccinal issues that are raised as well as the provision of every encouragement for the participants to meet and converse in situations which reflect the rich culture of the host country. Those engaged in any aspect of the vaccine activity may be assured that a personal and financial investment in the next such congress in Japan will be well worth the effort and time committed.
Professor R.E. Spier Editor of Vaccine Emeritus Professor of Science and Engineering Ethics School of BioMedical and Molecular Sciences University of Surrey, Guildford Surrey GU2 7XH, United Kingdom
The World Congress on Vaccines and Immunisation brings together a broad spectrum of Scientists and Clinicians from the pharmaceutical industry, public health care services and research institutions to discuss key issues in vaccine development and immunisation strategies globally. The Congress fosters collaboration amongst this wide group of organizations and enhances not only knowledge but vaccine implementation strategies globally. Cutting edge issues are discussed and debated with contributions being published in the leading peer review journal, Vaccine. The World Congress on Vaccines and Immunisation is the pinnacle vaccine annual forum in the world today.

The World Congress on Vaccines and Immunization was the first Congress to address all aspects of vaccinology in one forum. As a result it has set the standard for all others to try and emulate. The Fourth World Congress being held in Japan will continue the excellent tradition of combining quality science in an attractive venue where vaccinologists can exchange the latest data and concepts in this important field.

The World Congress on Vaccines and Immunisation (WCVI) is the only very professional, the most informative congress with several plenary sessions and up to twenty symposia and workshops covering in 4 days all aspects of vaccines research and immunisation strategies in clinical applications. As a first created world congress of this kind with outstanding scientific programme, excellent contributors and the lowest registration fees, no one should miss it. Congratulations!

The World Congress on Vaccines and Immunization is the only truly world-wide, independent, medical research congress dedicated to purely vaccines and immunizations. Its program presents in detail the cutting edge of scientific discovery across the breadth of vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases. Several of its delegates truly represent the world's leading scholars and scientists in the field of vaccinology.

Since fifteen years I attended several first class conferences on vaccinology organized by ICWO in Europe, China and the Americas. As a logical consequence, the very original and outstanding World Congress on Vaccines and Immunization (WCVI), founded in 1997 by the ICWO President, is certainly the only prestigious world congress for all specialists in vaccines development and vaccination. The WCVI 2004 in Japan is of a very great value, especially for vaccinologists from Japan and other Asian countries. This congress will promote international cooperation and immunization against infectious diseases in this part of the world.
