The
Alliance has been formed to address three key problems:
- One in four children worldwide still does
not receive the "basic" vaccines against diseases such as measles,
diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough. [more]
- The "vaccine gap" between rich and poor
children is widening.[more]
- Three major killers with a combined annual death
toll of five million - HIV, TB and malaria - cannot be prevented
by existing vaccines and research on vaccines for these diseases
has been underfunded.[more]
