Injection safety support

GAVI helps countries ensure safe injection use and practices, critical for preventing disease transmission, by providing funding towards autodisable (AD) syringes for single use and safety boxes for their disposal.

Since GAVI began in 2000 a total of 76 countries have been eligible for this type of funding called injection safety support (INS) and 71 countries have been approved for it, as at November 2007.

Only three countries, of the 72 currently eligible, have not applied for this support.
