Japanese Encephalitis (JE)
The only vaccine that is commercially available on the international market is the mouse brain-derived inactivated vaccine, however, it is very expensive. Recent work has been focused on developing and distributing newer vaccines that are more efficacious and with fewer side effects. Joint Reporting Form (JRF)
Countries annually submit information on their immunization system to the WHO and UNICEF via the JRF. This form contains coverage rates for various vaccines and other immunization indicators (i.e. injection safety, government support for immunization, wastage, etc.), providing a comprehensive picture of a country's progress. This data is used by GAVI in monitoring countries achievements.
